Season Update 2025/26 | Bitcoin Cricket

The Bitcoin Cricket Team has been building momentum this season, combining competitive performances on the field with a growing presence off it.

As the campaign progresses, the young team continues to represent both the Swan Valley and the wider Bitcoin community with pride, resilience, and ambition.

Season Overview

The 2025/26 season so far has been one of steady improvement and strong competition. The team has faced a variety of opponents across the WASTCA competition, with several matches going down to key moments that tested composure and skill of the young team.

Current record (WASTCA One-Day / Two-Day Comp)
Matches played: 7
Wins: 5
Losses: 2
Current ladder position: 2nd

While results only tell part of the story, the performances across the group have shown a clear commitment to improvement and consistency.

Standout Performances

There have been several strong individual and team contributions throughout the season so far.

Batting
Strong top order contributions have set solid foundations in multiple matches, with key innings under pressure helping the team post competitive totals.  Middle order performances have also played an important role, particularly in chasing targets or stabilising innings after early wickets.

Alex Ralston currently leads the way with 232 Runs @ 29.0, and Deegan Kirkness has hit 208 Runs @ 41.6 in a breakout year for the young wicketkeeper batsman.

Bowling
The bowling unit has delivered disciplined spells, creating pressure and taking wickets at crucial times. Wickets have been well spread amongst the team, though our English quick Luke Robinson leads the way with 19 Wickets @ 12.84.

All-Round efforts from Corry Verco (156 Runs @ 22.29  &  9 Wickets @ 20.11) have been crucial to date, and secured him two consecutive HardBlock POTM Performances.

Team Culture and Development

Beyond match results, the season has been important for building team culture. Training standards have lifted, on-field communication has improved, and the group continues to grow stronger as a unit.

The team has also seen increased engagement from supporters, both at matches and online, as the unique combination of cricket and Bitcoin continues to attract interest. Recent comments from the WACA and other local clubs has us confident in our Bitcoin strategy.

Looking Ahead

With several matches still to play, the second half of the season presents an opportunity to build on the progress made so far. Each fixture will be important as the team looks to finish the season strongly and push for a top of ladder finish, which would promise the Swan Valley Bitcoin Cricket Team promotion to the top grade once again.

The Bitcoin Cricket Team have secured a finals birth in the One-Day competition, with only the venue of the semi-final to be confirmed in the new year.

How to Follow the Team

Supporters can follow all fixtures, results, and detailed player statistics through the PlayCricket website and app by searching for the Swan Valley Bitcoin Cricket Team within the relevant competition. Of course, don't forget to follow us on Instagram or TikTok.

A final shoutout to our major sponsors CoinFlip and TWD 4x4. We are grateful to receive such great support from these Bitcoin-aligned businesses.
